Weary Wednesday

Winter in slowly lingering in, and I thought to share with you some pieces I believe will add luxury to our humble wardrobes. So this is as holy as this post will get.

Roberto Cavalli: Printed Silk Satin Blazer
(Add a fitted blazer to your wardrobe this winter, a print is a bonus, you can always add to a plain outfit)

Reed Karkoff: Leather trimmed suede ankle boots
(There is nothing better than a statement pair of boots this winter for your feet to party in)

DKNY: Faux Fur Vest
(Fur always gives an outfit a touch of luxury, besides the warmth it keeps you in)

Proenza Schouler: Denim Jacket
(Denim is denim and there is so much to do with it, NO doubt in that)

Lanvin: Rabbit Pompom and Wool-Blend Beanie
(Beanies are as big as your beach hat this winter, add one or two to your wardrobe it can always add some style to a quick coffee or lunch outing).

Valentino: Rock-Stud Leather Gloves
(With long sleeves, it can be hard to show off some of your favorite pieces, you can swap that with a studded pair of gloves for that extra feel of accessorizing).

Gucci: Camel Hair Poncho Top
(Black should be a basic color in you knitted world, with a pair of stockings or leather pants, it can surely be a savior when you have a morning mental block)

Three Six Five

A year ago, I decided to start my own blog where I share all my personal and most favorite interests. Throughout this year, I have been part of your lives and so have you.

When I come to think about it, it feels like it was just yesterday and the feeling is over whelming to know that I have reached more than half of my goal this year through this blog. So thank you for being there for me and putting up with my laziness that is absolutely unintended at times.

I would like to thank all those who supported me and pushed me to keep going with my little dream and made sure I never gave up on it. You all know who you are, and I'm truly blessed to have you in and part of my life.

Another year will pass, and my love for you all will grow more and more. Hopefully this year I can be more attentive to it, and share with you all that interests you and more.

Bowtiful velvet things.

Love or loath velvet, you can never walk past the material without getting a feel of it's exquisite run through your fingers. And if you truly appreciate fashion, you will definitely own a piece or two.

By MFL, has combined the beautiful fabric and a Gold metal bow that resulted in a BOWtiful statement piece to walk around carrying on your shoulder this winter.

Are you impressed?

Did you know that most of the time us girls really dress for other girls, I mean your fashion sense is not headed towards impressing a man (unless you got them babies hanging out then I'm off topic here with you love), but more of impressing a lady just like you. Men in general don't really get our fashion when it starts revolving around studs, florals, neon and even knits that were at some point in life considered to be a granny piece (Man I love knits).

You sure can look good enough to make a mans head turn twice, but don't expect that reaction when you are walking around with a pair of floral wedges or a studded biker jacket, the majority will not get you and the minority will be as dressed to impress another male as you are to another woman.

This post is pointless to you, but this was a conversation I had with a male friend who totally failed to explain and convience a fashion lover the reasons behind why they can totally hold a grudge against our fashion world.

Lets get to the fun part and that is my MUST-HAVES winter pieces I'm about to share with you.

Invest in colorful knits and a few details would be a super bonus to pop an outfit, and don't be afraid to step out of the norm and grab a few cropped ones, they go pretty well with high-waisted pants/jeans.

Banjo & Matilda: Cashmere sweater
Chloe: Wool and Cashmere blend sweater
Duffy: Knitted turtle neck

Lets leave the floral pants aside for now and focus on some geomatrical prints and even sequins. They go pretty well with a light one color long sleeve or even a chunky jacket, day or night it will give and take don't you worry.

Balmain: Cropped velvet skinny pants
Derek Lam: Cropped sequin pants
Matthew Williamson: Satin skinny pants

Another thing, Jackets/Coats. Pea-coats are in, so are bomber and military style jackets, so you might want to lay aside last season lovers and invest in new trendy ones.

Gucci: Wool Military Jacket
DKNY: reversible Bomber Jacket
Derek Lam: Wool blend peacoat

I stand speechless infront of 80 percent of shoes, especially winter boots. I'm dying at this very moment looking at the beauty that is placed below.

Christian Louboutin: Color block ankle
Burberry Prorsum: Lace up suede boots
NewbarK Sabine: Two-tone boots
Jason Wu: Leather and Suede ankle boots
Proenze Schouler: paneled leather ankle boots
Marini: Suede ankle boots
Guiseppe zanotti: Suede knee boots

MMM: For H&M

When I first heard about the collaboration between Maison Martin Margiela and H&M, I was over the moon, not only that, wait for it... they are limited "Re-editions" of actual Margiela pieces. YES!.

Having H&M previously collaborate with big names such as Lanvin, Marni and Versace, I had no doubt that this collaborative collection with Margiela will be out of this world.

Here is a sneak peak of their Look Book:

The collection is set to release on the 15th of november, Can you wait?

Bon voyage

Every fashionista loves to travel in style... Let it be a short or a long trip, it doesn't matter. That celebrity feeling you get when you know you will be one of the very few stylish people on board.

I personally love to travel in "Comfort" since I live in Australia, all my trips are over 24hrs flight. But what I also love to consider is the fact that I will be sitting down for +14 hrs where my blood circulation will be at it's lowest rate. Some of you don't really put that into consideration, but it is as important as the meal you get on the plane.

I understand that you can have a walk up and down the aisle every 2 hours or so, But your clothes play a major factor here. If you are wearing tight skinny jeans swap them for a pair of tights "Please wear something long enough to cover the junk in the trunk "Tights are NOT pants"". If you are going to wear Heels/Ballerinas/Boots/Sneakers, Always have a pair of socks that you can sit through the whole flight in, this give your feet a chance to breathe and reduce the swelling that your body experiences due to the air pressure.

MOISTURIZE!!.. Always keep a small tub or a tube on you during all your flights. Your body goes into dehydration mode more than you can ever imagine and your face is what needs it the most. And of course the good old remedy, "Water" drink lots and lots of water.

What difference does it make?

Have you ever stopped and thought to yourself, What is my style?. We sure do follow fashion trends and some of us may even splurge on an item or ten that you don't even need. But before you actually make that purchase, have you asked yourself some important consumer questions? Is it for me? My style? How many times will I wear it? Do I have items that I can mix and match it with more than once?. These are questions I try to stick to and follow (I fail sometimes, but hey don't hold it against me).

Let's be honest, we are all followers at some point when it comes to fashion trends, but what represents you for who YOU really are is your style. I mean if you give me a potato sack and tell me "Hey it's in fashion" my response will be "Hell no". It does not represent who and what I'm all about. I can style it to fit my personality and all, but still it's an item I would stand contemplating whether I should or should not buy and I'll probably end up wearing it once.

You might sit there reading this blog thinking, "What is she on about?". Allow me to open up here, everywhere I go girls just all look the same, For example, I can walk into a place and there is 8 out of 10 girls wearing the same top (Peplum for example), sure it might be in a different color, but seriously? If X can pull it off, it does not mean that Y can too. And this is where I stop and think. "Girl where is your style"?.

Style is your personality. A character and the story is only told by you. Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and explore who you really are, through what suits you and flatters you the most.
It's an inspiration to others as well as a unique stamp to staying true to yourself. So don't go following trends just for the sake of fitting in.

" "Style" is an expression of individualism mixed with charisma. "Fashion" is something that comes after style." John Farichild.

Have a great weekend x
